What is Fiber Optic Technology?
Fiber optics is composed of microscopic strands of glass. That glass though, is a little more special than what's in the windows of your home or car. Information - in the form of bytes of data - can travel through this glass at the speed of light. Current microwave systems have a maximum data rate of 1.544 megabits per second. Fiber optics can operate up to 100 times faster.

The fiber optic strands of glass are enclosed inside tubes which are protected by several layers, including Kevlar, the same material used in bullet proof-jackets.

In fiber optics, data is converted to light impulses using a transmitter/receiver and travels to another location where another transmitter/receiver converts the light impulses back to data. Its advantages include the ability to transmit data over long distances, low error rates, lightning protection, immunity to RFI, and ease of installation. It also does not carry current which means it's not dangerous to touch, unlike live electric wires.

All Fiber Installations use only Micronet ®  SMALL SIZE, HIGH FIBER COUNT  Micronet Cables

Micro cable (GAHLDV) is a fiber optic micro cable for duct installation and is the major building block in the Micronet system.

The micro cable consists of six compact fiber units (CFU) with either 4 or 12 fibers per unit. This enables a fiber count from 4 to 72 fibers.

The versatility of this cable design has enabled a very compact and small fiber cable that can be installed in pipes with an inner diameter of 5.5 or 8mm.

Benefits

  :: Excellent installation performance
  :: Easy to strip and identify fibers
  :: Very good temperature performance
  :: Diameter from 4.0 mm
  :: Robust and flexible design -

Micronet is the new fiber optic micro cable system specially developed for metropolitan and access network installations, where scalability, flexibility, and cost-effective installations are of key importance.

Micronet was developed to effectively link trunk networks to access networks.

Micronetconsists of micro cables with from 4 up to 72 fibers, and micro-ducts in which the micro cables are installed. Both cables and ducts are installed with air blown technology.

Benefits:

  ::  Small size with high fiber counts.
  ::  Fast and convenient installation technique.
  ::  Incremental installation, efficient capital investment.

Micronet microducts and multiducts are used for air blown installation of micro cables. The micro/multiducts are deployed in existing ducts, or directly in the ground. The ducts are installed with air blown technology or by pulling.

The ducts can be installed separately and in advance, in new or existing channels. Installation of micro cable may then be incremental, adapted to growth of end-user or bandwidth demands.

Duct branch closure for Micronet multiducts Branching and jointing kit intended for branching of Micronet multiducts and microducts.. The closure can also be used as a protective cover for straight joints. The closure has 4 duct ports

Benefits
• indoor and outdoor designs
• low-friction for long distance air-blown installation
